Vintage Comanche Pottery Marbled Swirl Bowl – Red, Black & Cream
Striking vintage Comanche Pottery bowl featuring the company's distinctive marbled clay technique in rich terracotta red, chocolate brown, black, cream and gray.
The bowl features deeply ribbed sides and a scalloped rim, while the underside reveals a dramatic swirling pattern created by the contrasting layers of clay. Each angle produces a different organic pattern, giving the piece the appearance of natural stone or agate.
Marked “COMANCHE POTTERY” on the interior.
A fantastic piece of vintage American pottery for displaying on a coffee table, bookshelf or collected pottery display.
Design / Details
Comanche Pottery • marbled/swirl clay construction • terracotta, rust, brown, black, gray and cream tones • deeply ribbed/fluted exterior • scalloped rim • dramatic spiral pattern on underside • impressed Comanche Pottery mark.
A 2026 auction described comparable Comanche pieces as late-20th-century studio pottery using different colored clays wedged together to create the marbled effect.
Condition
Good vintage condition with substantial age-related surface wear, discoloration and residue visible throughout. There are small irregularities along the scalloped rim and textured exterior that should be photographed closely. I don't see an obvious major structural crack in these photos, but I would inspect the rim carefully before publishing.
